I absolutely love finding new, innovative and amazing products. I have to admit one thing though, this most recent amazing product was brought to my attention by my father. Don’t tell him I admitted that though 🙂
My father was looking for a walking stick that did not look like a walking stick. He likes to go for a stroll in the park and have a walking stick for him and his, well aging body! However, my dad does not want to look OLD! My dad wanted a stylish walking stick, that he could actually depend on to support him if the need arose and he also wanted an umbrella built in. So he did what he in his later years has learned works best and turned to searching the internet for his dream item. All his searching turned up the Unbreakable Umbrella Walking Stick by Global Watch.
Once I saw and heard of this amazing Unbreakable Umbrella from Global Watch, I had to get my hands on one and test it out. Yes, I had to get my own because my father is in love with his Global Watch Unbreakable Umbrella so much that he would and will not let ANYONE lay a finger on it. I am honestly not sure why he is so protective of his umbrella because it is literally unbreakable so what can we do to it?!
Okay first of all, the Global Watch Unbreakable Umbrella Walking Stick is seriously unbreakable. I event let my 6 year old loose on my umbrella because she goes through umbrellas like there is no tomorrow. If an umbrella can break, my little one will find a way to break it! She could not break this umbrella. She could open and close it on her own as well, which makes me really happy, because most umbrellas kids need help to open and close.
Then I got to test my umbrella out. I could not break it at all. I leaned on it and everything I could think of and it does not distort, disfigure or break in any way. I am amazed. I think this will be the last umbrella that I ever have to get!
I was asked, what about when the umbrella pops in the wind? That must break it right?! NO it does not. I tried to test this out myself, but even with our wicked Lower Mainland wind and rain storms we get, I just could not get mine to even pop. There are different options for the handle that you can purchase for the Unbreakable Umbrella and it will all depend on your preferences.
For a more traditional look, you can choose the Unbreakable Umbrella with the Standard Crooked Handle.
For something a little different, you can choose the Unbreakable Umbrella with the Straight Handle and a ball on the end. I like the look of this one. To me it looks like something a little more sophisticated. It would go well when dressed up and out for the night.
The one I tested was the first image at the beginning of this review with the straight handle made out of Rubber-covered polyamide. I love this handle. It is comfortable to hold, grip and walk with as a walking stick. It is also the more modern handle that we see on umbrellas nowadays. This is my pick over all the handles.
Depending on the model you decide on, there are a few different specs to consider…….
Of course the handle is the obvious difference and will likely be the deciding factor for which umbrella you purchase. The other specifications that are different are inherent to the umbrella you pick and are not options. The length varies on models from 35 inches to 37.75 inches. The open diameter varies on models from 43 inches to 47 inches. No matter what model you pick, the umbrella is very light at just over 1 lb, varying from 705 g to 822 g. incredibly light weight for something that is unbreakable. The umbrella fabric is the same on all models and is a high-density polyester pongee 190T black color. The main rode of the umbrella is a proprietary composite for all models. The frame is either fiberglass and polyamide as is the case in the model I have or steel and high-strength aluminum.
Here are a few things that we have thought would be a great addition to this amazing product. I would like to see the following:
*Option for reflective edges on the fabric.
*Alternate traction tips for using the walking stick on all surfaces such as ice, snow, wet mall floors and so on.
*Kids version.
*Kids color such as pink.
The price point might be an issue for some people, but you have to consider what you are purchasing. You are getting a walking stick and umbrella all in one. Even more, you will not have to keep buying umbrellas over and over again. If I add up the amount that I have spent on $10 and $20 umbrellas over the years, I want to cry at what I have spent. I like the idea of spending a set amount for a quality product that will last long term. The best thing is, there is even a limited lifetime warranty that comes with this umbrella.

Our Unbreakable Umbrellas are handcrafted in limited quantities from highest quality materials. Unbreakable Umbrella frames are warranted not to break under normal use (no throwing it under a heavy truck or a train, no chopping it with an axe, no banging it with a hammer, no throwing it into a wood chipper, no setting it on fire, or subjecting to other abuses). This warranty does not cover fabric, nor does it cover damage caused by abuse or accident (such as throwing it under a train or a bulldozer, and subjecting it to other similar unreasonable stresses).Our warranty doesn’t cover fabric damage (unless the fabric is defective) because even the highest quality umbrella fabric cannot be guaranteed to withstand abrasive forces occurring at hard impact between wiring of the frame and the stricken object. Our Unbreakable Umbrella is for defending against elements (in every meaning of the word) and not for clowning. It is covered in a high-quality waterproof fabric, not in abrasion proof or slash proof fabric, because it has to look, weigh, and work like a normal umbrella, so do not expect this fabric to be undamaged if you hit heavy bags, baseball bats, and such things with it.
