What A Jewel – Butterfly

June 14, 2014 By MomMomOnTheGo

What A Jewel

MomMomOnTheGo recently came across a company and their website called What A Jewel. The name is so appropriate because the products that they carry are pretty awesome. I have personally been checking out their arts and crafts products. We love doing arts and crafts in our household. I find craft time to be great bonding time with my Little One and it is so great for for inspiring and tapping into the creative side of your kids.

One of the What A Jewel products that we have recently checked out and used is the Create a Creature – Butterfly art set.

Butterfly

Create a creature, build a butterfly. With this activity kit, kids will have hours of fun. The kit has colourful wooden parts and high power magnets and can be decorated any way they like. Enclosed in the package is some educational information about butterflies. The butterfly has magnetic feet, so once finished it can be used on fridges, lamps, school lockers, desks, filing cabinets, bikes, cars and any other metal surface. Use the butterfly as a decoration, to hold papers or just to play with.

For ages 6 and up

The kit includes:

Colourful wood and foam body parts
Decorative glitter glue
High power magnets

Assembly and educational information

These hand-crafted products are produced with great care, including well-rounded corners, no splinters or rough spots and non-toxic paints and finishes.

The wood used to make The Toy Maker of Lunenburg products is harvested within 30 km. of their facilities from companies using sustainable wood practices. Local hobby farms use most of their shavings, and the sawdust is recycled for compost.

Made in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, Canada

Here is what I love about the Create A Creature – Butterfly set:

*Fun to build.
*Great easy to follow instructions.
*Allows for creativity.
*Can do in one day.
*Quality products and finishing.
*Large size of the butterfly.
*Magnets are so strong.

The only thing that I would take note of is that the colors of materials you may receive are not necessarily as pictured on the box. I would assume that this is because they are all handmade and let’s face it, the company cannot change the picture on the box every time they use different handmade products. You can see the slight difference in the color of the foam we received in the picture below as compared to the photo on the box above.

Our Butterfly

Overall, I highly recommend the Butterfly kit. It is a lot of fun to make. It is great for ages 6 years old and up. The Butterfly would be good for younger children as well as long as you are going to help them with it. There are small parts so I would not recommend for children under 3 or any that have a tendency to still put things in their mouth.

If you are looking for any unique gifts, make sure to check out What A Jewel. You can also find What A Jewel on Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest.
