It seems like not that long ago that my Little One graduated from Kindergarten, my middle one graduated from Elementary school and my eldest well he stop going to College, but got promoted to Manager at work. That was all the end of June and now I am already realizing that September is fast approaching. Pretty soon the lazy days of summer will yet again turn into the chaotic mornings of getting everyone ready, dressed, lunches packed, breakfast in them, teeth brushed, school planners signed and out the door in all different directions for varying times.
My Little One is starting grade one at one school. My middle one is starting Middle School at another school in the opposite direction than my Little One’s school. My eldest, well thankfully he can now drive himself, but he sure is stubborn for actually eating in the morning. I can feel my heart rate increase at the thought of the chaos of getting ready in the morning. They say that 8:20 am is the most stressful time of day for parents. Not sure if it is exactly 8:20 am in our house, but it probably is somewhere around there.
I think that we have learned a lot of little tricks for making the mornings a little less stressful. One thing we started to do at the end of last year was to have the two girls, being my Little One and middle one put their clothes out the night before. It helps limit the girl thing where they change their mind a million times on what they are going to wear! Is it hot? Is it cold? Should I wear a long sleeve or a short? Do I need a sweater? Does this match? Is this washed? I love dealing with all of these the night before.
The other thing we do is we sign planners, field trip forms, tests and everything else under the sun the night before. We get all these pieces of paper that need signatures right after school, get them done and back in their backpacks for the next day.
The other two things we focus on are the most important in my books…..nutrition in the form of breakfast and lunch. If my kids are hungry they get grumpy and I am certain it is hard to focus when grumpy and hungry. My eldest who is our teenage son is absolutely horrible at getting something to eat. If it is not cooked for him, he will not eat. One thing I am sure that he will consume at lightning speed is YOP. I am always guaranteed that my eldest can open a YOP, well truthfully he can make a six pack disappear in the blink of an eye.
My Little One and middle one also love YOP. I like having YOP as part of their breakfast and as a snack in their lunch as well. It is super important to have YOP for lunches because my Little One is not good at eating her lunch at school. The one thing I can be certain that she will consume is her yogurt drink which makes me feel reassured that she is getting some good nutrition and energy.
Here is why I like YOP……
*No gelatin
*No artificial sweeteners
*No artificial flavorsThe first ever drinkable yogurt in Canada, Yop from Yoplait is perfect for breakfast or snack on-the-go thanks to its convenient packaging.
