The Belle Method, a Fitness Philosophy for Women

February 10, 2015 By MomMomOnTheGo

Nikki Bergen is one of Toronto’s most sought after experts in women’s fitness and creator of The Belle Method, a Fitness Philosophy for Women. A former ballroom dancer, Nikki recently launched The Bump Method, a comprehensive pre and postnatal fitness program for each trimester of pregnancy, including the previously unacknowledged 4th Trimester – those first 12 weeks after giving birth that are crucial to restoring your core. The workout series was designed with the guidance of a Pelvic Health Physiotherapist, PhD and professor at McMaster University and represents the latest in research on pregnancy exercise.

This isn’t your typical ‘Post-Holiday Health & Fitness’ story. Nikki is a Master Pilates Instructor and Pre & Postnatal Expert with a goal to help women who are reporting increased anxiety about what prenatal fitness practices are safe. What are the workouts, tips and insights expecting mothers should keep in mind when staying fit during their pregnancy? How can you avoid getting diastasis recti, aka “mummy tummy”; a condition of severe abdominal separation that affects more than 1 in 3 pregnant women?
